Octane Esports Racing

Maiden Season, Maiden Championship

Every team in the history of every sport had to start somewhere with a group of like-minded individuals sitting down together with 1 goal in mind: that goal is to win.

Winning a race is good, but the championship is the most defining since it shows you were the best consistently, beating the others on a regular basis. Now championships are usually won on the last round, down to the wire with the most suspense. And that was also the case in ARC’s GT3 championship hosted in Assetto Corsa, our first full season completed as Octane.

Championship success

We started the season off strong with a podium on the courtesy of Matthew Webb, our driver who was on the podium in 7 of the 9 races that made up this season, only missing out on points in Spa due to way too much damage sustained to his car during that round. He, in my opinion, worked the hardest for our team this season, so I would like to thank him for his contributions.

We had it difficult at times this season with our rival Ivan Tetaz winning every round he competed in, which was 8 out of 9 rounds; we would like to congratulate him on his championship victory. Even though we were at times discouraged, we still kept on. When Webb retired from Spa, we had Skoro pulling through to get on the podium. These constant podiums helped keep the championship close until the last race, the famous green hell. A track where our drivers weren't the most experienced.

Arthur couldn’t make it even though he had the most experience there, so he helped Matthew navigate the track so Webb could have a good start to his practice, even though he missed out on a podium there. We still had our other owner making a one-off appearance, pulling in 4 points and finishing P8, so a big thanks for those 4 points, Matt Potter, since those 4 defined our season.

Since Ivan’s team had 200 total points at the end of the season and we would've had 199 points had Potter not jumped in the car. We thus finished our first full season as a team with 203 points, the most of all the teams, thus crowning us as the champions of the 2025 ARC GT3 World Challenge Championship.

Another success

Now I would also like to shed light on our academy team, which had its own triumphs. Firstly, a podium in the second round by Arthur Bellen after pushing a lot throughout the race, but that was not the highlight in my eyes. The point of an academy team is to grow newer drivers into better drivers that learn from mistakes.

That was brought to fruition by Andronikos Tsemekidis, the engineer that crafted these setups for us who tried his own hand in racing, and he did well. He had a rusty start to the season where he was out of the points usually, but come Spa, he made a good turnaround, getting quite some points in the process, so congratulations to him.

Our feelings

I am proud to be in this team where we are able to win these things. I have been doing league racing for a little under a year, and if you told me I would win a teams championship in under a year with a team that I myself have a senior role in, I wouldn't have believed you.

We started Octane at the beginning of this year, and we have already got a title to our names. Words can’t really express how proud I am. We will try to continue our successes for the next season in ARC and all the other competitions we are enrolled in. We would like to thank everyone for their support and contributions to us.
